OATS Wins Two AVA Digital Awards

OATS is proud to announce that we have received two AVA Digital Awards in the 2024 season, Platinum and Gold.

OATS is proud to announce that we have received two AVA Digital Awards in the 2024 season, Platinum and Gold. AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence among creative professionals responsible for planning, concept, direction, design, and production of digital communication.

Platinum Winner 2024: Aging with Attitude and Gratitude, a three-minute video about the Senior Planet Licensing Program, was selected as a 2024 AVA Digital Awards Platinum winner in the web-based production, short form web video under 3 minutes catetory. The video features Norma (age 71) and Art Menard (age 73), a 47-year married couple that began offering free technology training classes for older adults at their local library thanks to the Senior Planet licensing program. Gold Winner 2024: “Solving for X at the End of Life,” an article written by OATS Executive Director Tom Kamber and published in Next Avenue, won an AVA Gold Award in the category of digital marketing, content marketing and blog writing. The article asks why we as a society are “failing at dying,” and posits a better approach to death and dying. Instead of end-of-life experiences consumed by countless distractions and the imperatives of medical institutions and funeral homes, Kamber envisions pathways to dying as a time for growth, reflection, and deep connection. The foundation for the AVA Digital Awards began in 1994 as a celebration of the audio-visual arts. Over the years, AVA’s categories changed to recognize the expanding role that digital media and the web were playing in the transfer of information.
