Senior Planet Exploration Center is Open
OATS has opened the nation's first tech-themed center for older adults. The new Senior Planet Exploration Center, located in Manhattan at 127 W. 25th Street, features dozens of computers, digital cameras and other devices for seniors to use, and classes, workshops, programs, lectures, and special events. The Center and other ground-breaking OATS programs have received extensive media coverage from USA Today, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Today Show, CNBC, WYNC (begins at minute 4:10), El Diario (in Spanish), and Telemundo (in Spanish).
OATS Launches Macquarie Speaker Series
OATS will soon be kicking off the Macquarie Speaker Series at the Senior Planet Exploration Center. Each session of this high-profile series will feature a different visionary who is seeking to catalyze new thinking and explore new solutions to the ways in which we age. The speakers' thought-provoking presentations will be followed by lively dialogues with audience members. A well-known moderator will moderate the entire series, which is generously supported by Macquarie Group Foundation.
OATS Builds Technology Labs for Seniors
OATS – with support from the U.S. Department of Commerce and The City of New York – has built 23 new public computer centers in neighborhoods throughout the city. These new facilities contain a total of 300 state-of-the-art PCs, available for seniors to use free of charge.
