Marisa Giorgi brings over 15 years of university teaching experience and curriculum design to her role as Director of Curriculum Development at OATS, where she is responsible for the development of all educational materials, including multi-week courses, lectures, workshops, and special programs.
Marisa holds a PhD in Comparative Literature with a Specialization in Italian Studies from the Graduate Center, CUNY. Prior to joining OATS Marisa taught Italian language, literature, culture, and film at The Ohio State University, Hunter College, CUNY, New York University, and the University of Pittsburgh. Her background and familiarity with blended learning has been integral to the implementation of Senior Planet U — Senior Planet’s online learning platform. Transitioning from teaching Italian culture to coming up with innovative ways of teaching digital culture has been fairly seamless for Marisa.
In her free time, Marisa enjoys reading contemporary Italian fiction, traveling, and spending time with her family.
