Senior Planet San Antonio Tele-Town Hall
Senior Planet from AARP in San Antonio is hosting a live, interactive telephone town hall on Monday, September 27 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm CDT, to discuss digital inclusion, prioritizing funding for services for older adults, and the Emergency Broadband Benefit. A central part of the city’s and county’s digital inclusion plan is to ensure all San Antonians have access to the internet and internet-connected devices. The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) is a federal program which helps income-constrained people and families access broadband internet service. This is the second of three tele-town halls designed to engage and inform the community on the inequities of digital access for older adults, the importance of changing the way we age, and the work happening at Senior Planet from AARP in San Antonio to keep older adults active and connected.
The September 27th town hall speakers include:
- Mayor Ron Nirenberg, City of San Antonio
- DeAnne Cuellar, State Director, OATS from AARP
- Lisa Rodriguez, Texas Director of Outreach and Advocacy, AARP
- Marina Gavito, Innovation Business Development Director, USAA
Anyone is welcome to participate in the town hall via phone or online. The event will be streamed on this page in English and Spanish. Registered participants will have the opportunity to ask questions live on the call and participate in poll questions. Participants are encouraged to pre-register to receive a phone call shortly before the event starts. Registration closes 24 hours before the event. Participants also can call (833) 946-1519 for English and (833) 946-1527 for Spanish at the start of the event.
