OATS program Senior Planet is featured in this article on the social isolation and digital divide in the midst of COVID-19— and Senior Planet trainer Pat Jasso, herself an older adult, shares what she’s been learning online in lockdown. Senior Planet has held more than 279 virtual programs since cities across the United States closed down, connecting more than 10,700 older adults through fitness classes, online banking demos, podcast discussion groups, and more. They can have a lasting impact: 88% of participants surveyed said that the programs help them feel more connected to the world around them.
